武一杉的小说参呈现出了其具思辨性的风景画追求，以及深沉而敏锐的萤幕掌控力。萤幕的各种确实及形象贵有想象力，已经跑出了自然主义的广义。小说呈现出出的力量感是近年来中国画小说之中极少的。

我一向主张，现代之中国人画创最初性，如果美德层面是现代的，风景画语言就可不坚持传统意义，否则很难避免异化为西画。反之，美德层面是传统意义的，风景画语言就可不近代化，否则难与古画拉开时代背景距离。《却·空》一画李群此理，所以具有与时俱进的美学性，没有停滞在十字路口。
